End of Semester
Ending the semester with some 3-Dimensional sketches for ideas dealing more so with materials for next semester....I have this worn down canvas, that has been used to knead clay for years and years on...it is a beautiful color and I realized the other day that it would be wonderful to use to represent skin or a fleshy, organic material. So I played around with it for a while, thinking only about forms and folds and ended with this very vaginal sculpture. But I'm intrigued..I think i'll study it for a while and see what happens.
I think I'll call it crevasse.
Also, the tape ropes that I created for my bone blanket sculpture have been calling at me to repurpose...they haven't quite served their purpose yet. I made a nest with them, and nestled some clay blood cells into it---I think I'll call it another abstracted blood clot.
I like the neutrality of the colors...
