Burned Bone, 2018
Tape, Broom Straw, Organic Matter
(Installation with eggshells, cotton and charcoal)
Burned Bone explores the themes of reparation, preservation, decay, loss, nurture, impermanence, and fragility. More specifically, the relationship that the body and nature have with these processes. By using a specific heirloom dress, one passed down through my family as a reference, I am using organic and artificial materials to represent the natural processes the human body endures throughout life and illness.
